Transparency

Capital Stewardship & Accountability Charter

Opening Statement

This document defines how Okir approaches capital stewardship, transparency, and accountability. It is written for those who want to understand not just what we do, but how we govern the resources entrusted to us.

Assume long-term scrutiny. This document is version-controlled and changes will be recorded with rationale.

What Transparency Means Here

Transparency at Okir is not a marketing posture. It is an operational constraint that creates accountability through exposure.

We publish:

  • Progress updates documenting work completed, decisions made, and obstacles encountered
  • Roadmap status reflecting actual state, not aspirational timelines
  • Capital allocation philosophy and reporting cadence
  • Constraints and limitations that affect our operations

We do not guarantee perfection. We guarantee documentation.

Capital Philosophy

Capital deployed into Okir is treated as a stewardship responsibility, not a growth mandate. We optimize for:

  • Longevity over rapid deployment
  • Sustainability over maximum return
  • Integrity over expedience

We operate without venture timelines. There is no pressure to exit. This structural patience allows decisions to be measured in years, not quarters.

Allocation Categories

Capital is allocated across defined categories, each with documented parameters:

Operations

Direct costs of building and maintaining supply chain operations. Includes sourcing, logistics, quality control, and partner relationships.

Infrastructure

Systems and tools required for transparent operations. Includes technology, documentation systems, and communication infrastructure.

Reserve

Capital held for operational continuity during unexpected constraints. Minimum reserve thresholds are maintained before expansion.

Community Investment

Direct investment in origin communities beyond transactional relationships. Documented separately from operational costs.

Phased Deployment

Capital is deployed in phases tied to demonstrated progress, not calendar dates. Each phase requires completion of defined prerequisites before the next phase unlocks.

This approach prevents over-commitment and ensures resources align with operational capacity.

Reporting Cadence

We publish updates based on meaningful progress, not arbitrary schedules. However, we commit to:

  • Minimum quarterly status updates when operations are active
  • Prompt disclosure of significant changes or constraints
  • Annual comprehensive review of all commitments and outcomes

We do not publish updates simply to appear active. Silence indicates steady operations, not absence.

Limits & Disclosure

Some information cannot be published due to:

  • Partner confidentiality agreements
  • Competitive sensitivity during active negotiations
  • Personal privacy of team members and partners

When information is withheld, we will state that it is withheld and provide the general reason. We will not pretend the information does not exist.

Invitation to Observe

This charter establishes the framework. Our public updates demonstrate its application. We invite scrutiny and will respond to good-faith questions about our operations.
