How We Measure

We track metrics that are explainable in plain language and meaningful to the communities and stakeholders involved in our work.

We avoid vanity metrics. If a number looks impressive but doesn't reflect genuine progress, we don't publish it.

Each metric includes its last update date. We do not present stale data as current. When metrics cannot be updated, we explain why.

What We Don't Track

Some metrics commonly used in impact reporting are absent here because they don't meet our standards for meaningful measurement:

  • Cumulative totals without context — Numbers that only go up but don't reflect current operations
  • Indirect impact estimates — Claims based on multiplier assumptions rather than direct observation
  • Comparative claims — Statements about being "better than" alternatives without rigorous methodology

We prefer fewer metrics that we can stand behind completely.
